About Arniston
Arniston is a picturesque seaside village named after a British ship that was wrecked here in 1815, an event that left a lasting historical legacy. The village lies between two protected nature reserves, offering unspoilt beaches, dramatic coastal cliffs and abundant marine and bird life. At its heart is Kassiesbaai, a traditional fishing hamlet with whitewashed, thatched cottages that has been declared a national heritage site. With its historic character, peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking natural surroundings, Arniston provides an authentic coastal experience rarely found in modern resorts.
